INTERFERENCES
Piotr Skowron
“My “Interferences” series consists of abstract graphic compositions with geometric, wavelike patterns. From a finite number of colours and matrices, I am able to create innumerable graphics. The images are made from superimposed undulating matrices and trigger associations with vibration patterns and travelling sound waves. These graphics are also an abstract form of representation, suggesting how one event can impact on another; how even minor disruptions can interfere with an entire image or situation.”
Piotr Skowron
Piotr Skowron was born in 1984 in Lodz, Poland. He graduated from the Lodz Academy of Fine Arts, where he majored in Graphic Arts, and earned a PhD in 2019. Currently, Skowron is teaching in Agata Stepien’s Silkscreen Studio and maintaining a lively creative record, mostly in his favourite techniques of printmaking, drawing and painting. Although he specialises in screen printing, the artist isn’t confined to traditional print forms and often explores space with his graphic objects. These spatial experiments largely stem from his earlier education in engineering. Ultimately, whatever their theme or technique, all Skowron’s compositions rely on a honed and expert handling of the most basic elements of artistic expression – the line, the plane, contrasting colours and textures.
Exhibition period: 03 March 2023 – 21 May 2023
