Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre invites to celebrate its second birthday!
It is already 2 years since on April 24, 2013 the Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre was opened. Due to the anniversary Mark Rothko Art Centre has prepared „cosmic” presents and surprises for its visitors.
On Friday, April 24, from 11 a.m. till 7 p.m. the entrance to the Art Centre will be free of charge. Moreover, all the Centre visitors will have the opportunity to see the new exhibitions dedicated to „cosmos”. On Mark Rothko Art Centre 2nd birthday there will be opened new exhibition of Polish artists – Karol and Przemyslaw Karwowski and Roman Borawski „Chaos– Cosmos – Labyrinth”, the annual art days exhibition of the Latgale region artists with the unifying theme “Clownade” as well as Latvian-American artist Sigurds Vidzirkste’s paintings and graphic work exhibition „ Black Sun – Sigurd Vidzirkste – New York Avant-Gardist”, Valda Mežbarde’s painting solo exhibition “Coast”, Eleanora Pastare’s ceramic work solo exhibition “Evening Meditation” and photography exhibition „Wyrzykowski and others – Contribution of Poles to the Development of Photography in Latvia”.
On Mark Rothko Art Center’s birthday at 4 p.m. visitors will have an opportunity to attend the rock band „Dabasu Durovys” concert, which will be followed by the opening ceremony of new exhibition season. While from 5 p.m. special activities will take place at the Art Centre, such as photo, clowns and musical laboratories – in which every participant will be able to be active in.
