The International Latgale Graphic Art Symposium 2016
From 17 till 28 of October at Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Center will take place 5th International Latgale Graphic Art Symposium.
Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Center in collaboration with Art Teachers’ Union in the framework of Rothko Centre’s Residence Program for the fifth time organize The International Latgale Graphic Art Symposium. The Graphic Symposium is meeting, discussion and creative work within the cultural space of Latgale, which unites similarly and differently thinking and working graphic artists from Latvia and abroad, whom form of artistic expression is graphic.
The International jury for participation chose 11 participants from 9 countries: Mishe (Republic of Macedonia), Laura Manfredi (Italy), Vaida Varnagiene (Lithuania), Agnieszka Zawadzka (Poland), Robert Rabiej (Poland), Miroslav Mandic (Serbia), Jürgen Höritzsch (Germany), Taida Jesarevic Hefford (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Inga Heamagi (Estonia), Irene Podgornik Badia (Italy) and the artist Anastasia Dubovska in symposium represents Latvia.
The Symposium will be officially opened on Wednesday, 19th of October at 16:00, followed by a symposium participant presentation, where they will present themselves, their ideas and their creative realizations.
Next Thursday, 27th of October from 15:00 till 19:00 anyone have opportunity to participate in artists’ workshops and master classes for free.
In turn, 28th of October from 14:00 till 16:00 artists are scheduled to meet with Latvian Graphics industry representatives. The same day at evening 16:00 will be symposium participant exhibition opening.
Exhibition will be open till 14th of November.
Graphics Art symposium supports Latgale Regional Development Agency, Latvian State Forests, KKF and Daugavpils City Council, Caparol and Valmiermuiža.
