Five new exhibitions will be seen at Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre from 16th November, 2013!

New season of expositions at Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre will offer the visitors to wallow in surrealistic world, created by artists during the dark months of winter. Mystical, fairy tale images portrayed in it will be perfect guides into the mysterious Christmas Eve.

On 25th of September – Mark Rothko’s 110th anniversary celebration at Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre!

On 25th of September when it is Mark Rothko’s 110th anniversary it will be possible to visit all the Centre exhibitions by donating a painting brush (useful for art process), which will be further used for the realization of different education programs. Throughout the day there will take place different events dedicated to artist’s anniversary.

In Project Exposition Sector on 10th August at 16:00 there will be the opening of Silva Linarte’s paintings exhibition “Reflections”. Works which will be exhibited were created in 2013. In the beginning of October there will be two day workshop in painting lead by the artist and the catalogue of exhibition “Reflections” will be presented.

Dilvin Smith’s (Great Britain) exhibition “Windows” in the Contemporary Art Sector. In the exhibition there will be artist’s textile works and photos. The idea of this exhibition occurred during International Plein Air „Mark Rothko 2012”, drawing inspiration from landscapes, local traditions and especially from the wooden architecture.
