Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre is grateful to the artist Mārīte Kluša for the donation of 63 books about art from her personal library. Among the books about a variety of art media and prominent Latvian and foreign artists, a book on art in the United States of America published in Moscow in 1960 (Чегодаев А.Д. Искусство Соединенных Штатов Америки. От войны за независимость до наших дней. Москва: Госиздат „Искусство”, 1960), where can be seen a black and white reproduction of Mark Rothko’s work „Old gold over white”, seems particularly interesting.
At present the collection of Rothko Centre library includes more than 600 books about art in eight languages, as well as internationally acknowledged artists’ catalogues, press and art centre publications.
