Within International Museum Night, Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Center invites to experience the magnificence of the Night of Pine Forest’s Color.
In this night the facade of the building and courtyard will undergo transformations, but the mystery and diversity will permeate walking trails of all exhibition sectors. The Art Center’s creative atmosphere will be enhanced by stylized colorful fantasy forest that will be created by our visitors throughout the evening.
Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Center will be expecting participants of Museum Night on 18th of May from 20.00 till 24.00, entry free of charge.
Going through walking trails created by the Art Center, there will be an opportunity to look into the digital exposition of Rothko Sector, Center collection exhibition „Gold”, exhibitions of works by Peter Griffin, Solomon Gershov un Pēteris Martinsons and the exhibition of Latgale artists’ works, in order to come back later and scrutinize all seven exhibitions of the area of 2000 sq. m.
In the intro hall of Sector B, we invite to participate in the art action and collectively create pine forest. Lay of birds, that will fill the Art Center during Museum Night, will create a particular atmosphere.
In the area in front of the Center, there will take place artistic installation – revival of paintings by Daugavpils University student- Elīna Silova, which will start at 20.00.
