The New “Season of Earth Exhibitions” in Mark Rothko Art Centre

From November 14, 2014, Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre will provide the opportunity to see five new exhibitions, whose uniting motif on the level of colour, composition and emotions relates to earth. Brown and golden tones intertwine in works by Boriss Bērziņš seen in the exhibition from the collection of the Latvian National Art Museum. At the “Season of Earth Exhibitions”, visitors of the Centre will also be able to get an insight into the Lithuanian art, provided by the graphic art exposition “Archives of Memory” by Vaidotas Janulis and the exhibition “Lithuanian Art Space” showing works of Lithuanian Artists Association. These two exhibitions include art works created in techniques of graphic art, ceramics, painting, and sculpture and bring the theme of “earth” into focus at an international level. The works by the graphic artist Anita Nikuļceva will be displayed at the exhibition “Four Seasons”. The new season of exhibitions includes also textile miniature exhibition “Fortress Walls”, showing works created at Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre within the frame of the International Textile Art Symposium, held on November 3 – 13.

All those interested in these exhibitions are welcome to the opening ceremony in Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre on November 14, 2014, at 16.00. From 15.30 to 16.30 – the entrance will be free of charge.
