The Latgale Graphic Art Symposium set to conclude with an exhibition opening

At 4 p.m. on Friday, 22 March, the Rothko Museum will close the 12th International Latgale Graphic Art Symposium with an exhibition celebrating the latest creative output by its participants.

This year, the International Latgale Graphic Art Symposium unfolds in Daugavpils from 8 to 22 March, bringing together graphic artists from the world over into the forum’s twelfth iteration.

The symposium participants from Poland, France, Croatia, Italy, Estonia, Latvia, and Taiwan draw inspiration from the Daugavpils fortress and the city’s distinct urban environment and visit multiple cultural venues across Latgale to translate these experiences into original artworks that demonstrate each artist’s individual creative style and illustrate the remarkable technical diversity of the graphic medium.

The intense creative fortnight spent hard at work in the Rothko Museum’s studios will conclude with the opening of a group exhibition in the institution’s gallery space featuring Magda Szplit (Poland), Henryk Krolikowski (Poland), Peili Huang (Taiwan), Vitalia Samuilova (France), Lorenzo Natali (Italy), Edvin Dragičević (Croatia), Kadri Toom (Estonia), Pascal Pignon Jaf (France), Anna Kłos (Poland), and Oksana Vronska (Latvia).

The exhibition will remain on show through 19 May 2024.

During the opening event, the exhibition will be available free of charge.
