A conscious and nuanced choice of colours and selection of subjects, not unlike a rhapsody, replace one another, featuring different characters and performances and highlighting the emotional aspect of lived experience.

Jolanta Ābele
Jolanta Ābele was born in Jēkabpils in 1971. Having graduated from the Ceramics Department of Rēzekne Secondary School of Applied Arts, she went on to pursue higher education at Latgale Branch of the Art Academy of Latvia (1994-1998). Ābele gained a master’s degree in visual and plastic arts from Daugavpils University in 2008, followed by design teacher’s qualifications from the Art Academy of Latvia in 2011. She is a member of the Artists’ Union of Latvia since 2011 and exhibits her work since 1986.
