Windless. Baltic Contemporary Ceramics in Liepāja
“Windless” reflects both an inner and outer state of peace, bringing together the works of more than thirty artists from Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia. The title may seem almost ironically simple for the city of wind and sea, yet this very simplicity is an intentional choice – an invitation to focus on stillness. A halted wave, a pause between movements – a moment when matter and mind find balance.
Organised by the Latvian Centre for Contemporary Ceramics in partnership with the Liepāja Museum and the Rothko Museum. Curated by Aivars Baranovskis & Valentīns Petjko (Latvia), Agne Šemberaite (Lithuania), and Pille Kaleviste (Estonia). Supported by the State Culture Capital Foundation of Latvia.
On view until 23 November in the 5th Latvia Ceramics Biennale programme.
