Traditionally, in the course of the symposium artists create graphic works in such techniques as letterpress and intaglio. The newly created artwork is added to the graphic art collection of the Rothko Centre. This year’s symposium has no thematic restrictions, but experience of previous symposia suggests that the artists’ work will inevitably contain symbolic echoes of the environment and space that was the setting for its creation.

All six iterations of the International Latgale Graphic Art Symposium have been organised in cooperation with the Latvian Art Teachers’ Union.
